Soundarya’s testament, in her legal name KS Soumya, was drafted by a senior advocate and is dated February 15, 2003, two months before her marriage and 14 months prior to her untimely death. A court in Bangalore has referred the case for mediation. Now, eight years after her death, the will is at the centre of the family dispute.
She is believed to have left a will desiring all her family members live under the same roof and also bequeathed properties worth crores of rupees to the surviving family members. Although raised in Bangalore, Soundarya dominated Telugu cinema in the 90s and acted opposite just about every leading south Indian superstar including Rajnikanth, Chiranjeevi, Vishnuvardhan and Mohanlal, apart from a Bollywood appearance with Amitabh Bachchan.
